One easy way to heal yourself is through service to others. Helping people and add value to their lives assists you to evolve by removing yourself from your current situation.

Stepping away to see yourself in a different light allows you to empathise with yourself to truly see the real reasons and feelings driving you down a certain path.

It is human nature for all behaviours to be driven by what is highest on one’s list of values. This is natural and should be encouraged as one’s passion can lead them to the fulfilment of their destiny.

However, when behaviours are more negative than positive then you should reassess the hierarchy of what’s most and least important to you. In this life you were born with everything to gain. Success is your birthright and so your actions should be aligned with this notion in order to keep moving forward.

Trust your dreams. The inner nudge you feel that constantly draws you back down a certain path to pursue particular interests is guiding you to your destiny. So in this instance, always listen to your heart, because the steps you take will lead you in the right direction. Have courage to move past any doubts or setbacks, as every experience you have gone through in your life leading up to now has prepared you to take on a new level of greatness and have the most amazing memories you have ever had. Believe that the best is yet to come.

Why I love Figure

Competing in bikini or fitness can be within anybody’s reach. But competing in figure is not something anyone can do. Comp prep begins many months, or even years before your 13 or 10 week diet to strip fat.

You must focus on creating a feminine and graceful physique while building muscle and symmetry. You need to visualise how you want to look, including your body, hair, face, skin, figure suit…everything, down to the finest detail!

Your stage presence and posing should be effortlessly graceful and confident, so you need to practise every day for weeks before a show. You need to believe that you are going to succeed no matter what life throws at you. You must train with maximum intensity, prepare all your meals and eat with ultimate precision if you want to stand on stage with a winning physique. A womans’ body naturally tries to hold onto fat. This this reason you need to enter contest prep for figure with a lot more effort, patience, mental stamina and perfection than what you would training for bikini or fitness as you are expected to display a lower level of body fat in this category.

Competing in figure was a dream of mine for over ten years and I finally made it come true this year. My ultimate goal is to be one of the best natural figure competitors in the world and I know with more work and time I will succeed in this.

Writing for success!

One habit that all individuals who have achieved massive success in one or more areas of their lives is keeping a journal. Daily writing is an important step to affirm your intentions, redefine your goals and keep your momentum going.

Consider documenting the following,

1. A daily gratitude list. Those who are grateful attract more positive things into their lives and have more to be grateful for. Gratitude is the key to opening the heart and attracting love from all facets of life.

2. Your life’s mission statement. What is it that you feel destined to do…the one thing you feel completely, 100% drawn to?

3. Your highest values. If you live according to your highest values you will feel fulfilled.

4. Positive affirmations. Practising positive affirmations daily is a great way to form new thought habits and neural pathways in the brain for specific patterns of cognition.

5. Your goals explained in great detail. Write down exactly how you are going to achieve something. Visualise it’s attainment. What does it feel like emotionally and physically? Imagination is powerful and it is just as important as any other step in your journey of success.

So there you have it, five things to start filling your journal with. At first daily writing may take some time getting used to but once you form this habit it will become an integral part of your daily work and you will ultimately surpass all your expectations for success.

 

8 Days to Go Till I Step on Stage for the First Time!

Your everyday actions must be aligned with your highest values. Don’t underestimate the impact that small little steps make!

The past few weeks!

Hi all!

Some of you may be wondering why I haven’t been posting as regularly. Well the truth is I have been busy preparing for my first figure competition.

This is something I am extremely excited about. I am 26 years old and I have been lifting weights consistently since I was 14. I am absolutely, 100% passionate about  bodybuilding. I feel that it is one of the most fulfilling journeys you can ever take yourself on. I believe that your inner reserve of strength and perseverance that you encounter along the way is amazing and once you uncover your real, mental strength you feel empowered to achieve anything you want in life.

My comp prep has been easy for a few reasons. I love this sport and I feel extremely fortunate that I have the opportunity to participate in it on a daily basis. I have been eating extremely clean for many consistent months and years. My 12 years of old school weight training mean I have a lot of muscle mass so my main concern is just balancing out my physique and stripping fat. I only surround myself physically and mentally with people who lift me up, not put me down. And lastly, I want this more than anything.

One place I find inspiration is on Robby Robinson’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RobbyRobinson.TheBlackPrince?fref=ts . Robby is an extremely nice guy, has a wealth of knowledge and all his life’s work is a real legacy to the sport. A few weeks ago he posted this quote, ‘Faith sees the invisible, believes the impossible and receives the incredible’. I immediately placed that message as a background on my phone and used it as a reminder to keep going and persisting, regardless of what I saw in the mirror. More to this, I received his book, The Black Prince: My Life in Bodybuilding: Muscle vs. Hustle (which you can find on his website http://www.robbyrobinson.net/books.php) and I will post a review once I have read it.

In the meantime, I am remaining disciplined and focused on my ultimate goal and dream. My wish is that you feel just as determined and gain the courage to really chase after what it is you want.

So below is a picture of me four weeks out from my first figure competition taken 3 days ago. I have already noticed more changes since I took this which just goes to show, you can achieve anything as you try your hardest, visualise and just keep going!

Do you remind yourself of this on a daily basis? If you don’t, maybe it is time you do. One reason people simply give up while on the road to success is not seeing immediate change or receiving instant gratification.

What you need to remember is success will not happen overnight. Success is the total sum of daily, cumulative efforts, applied with the power of intent. This means applying focused energy that will bring you closer to have better abilities at performing tasks and making better choices that will only benefit you and bring you success.

In terms of transforming your body each time you look in the mirror and you do not see a big difference remember, ‘I may not be there today, but I am closer than where I was yesterday’. Daily efforts will establish routine and positive habits that imperative for ultimate fat loss and better health.

In order to evolve you must practise positive self-talk on a daily basis so use this affirmation each day, undoubtedly believe in yourself and just watch everything fall into place.

Are you an amateur or a pro?

The different between an amateur or a pro comes down to one thing.

Sacrifice.

Sacrifice is necessary to reach the highest level in bodybuilding because a specific lifestyle must be lead to create and maintain an elite level physique.

You can have all the passion in the world, but if you do not have the drive to put your training and nutrition before everything else, including family and friends, you will not reach the top. It doesn’t matter how busy life gets or what your work and study schedule is like. There are always enough hours in the day to train and prepare clean food.

The ironic thing to know is that anyone who attains pro status really isn’t making a sacrifice. Such an athlete whole-heartedly loves bodybuilding and wouldn’t dream of doing anything else.

Make sure to make time for your passion because doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.

Success is not a skill..it is a persistent attitude! 

How do you know if you are training hard enough?

Your heart rate should be up

Your respiratory rate will increase

You will sweat

Your muscles will burn and feel heavy

Your weight should be heavy enough so you get to the end of your set, you should not be able to lift anymore

You do not stop and talk to people during your workout

Your technique, exertion and consistency in movement is more important than your hair or clothes. Do not stop mid-way to fix your appearance!

You leave the gym satisfied, the muscles you trained are fatigued..and you’re hungry…ready to eat!
